It seems to be relatively common. Mine does the same thing. I complained about it last summer when I took the car in for it's first oil change. The dealer said they added freon to the system and it was better when I got it back. The assumption at the time was that it was slightly under filled from the factory. This summer, it seems to be that way again, "sometimes!"

I haven't figured out if I'm just being overly picky about this or what. Usually, about the time I start feeling like I'm not, it starts freezing my arse off so I'm not sure whether to bring it up again or not. I've got a long trip planned in July and I'll take her in for an oil change before I go. I'll probably ask them to check it anyway.

FWIW!

I read on here that there is a rpm activated compressor bypass. I think it kicks in anywhere above 7000rpms to prevent damage to the compressor during higher engine speeds. If the compressor is bypassed then the air is going to feel warmer until it kicks back in.

I hadn't heard about an rpm activated bypass. I'm pretty sure the compressor kicks off at WOT.

In my case, and I assume in Ek5686's case too, we're talking about normal driving and not running around at VTEC speeds.

It seems to be fairly common, although I never noticed it until someone posted about it on the forum.

mine will intermittently blow vapor or something out the vents. it looks like a really thin smoke for a second or two then goes away. it doesn't smell or seem heavy and humid... and doesnt leave condensation the vents themselves. i just havent had a chance to take it to the dealership to get checked.

That is normal, and it is simply water vapor. It has happened to me one time or another in every car I have ever owned/driven.

Don't waste a trip to the dealer over it unless the "smoke" is a different color and emits a bad odor. Even then, make sure its not coming from your exhaust pipe in your pants!
