Recently I got this wind type noise under the passenger side dash with the air conditioning on. It sounds like a swirling wind storm. It goes on and off. Never heard this before. It's pretty annoying. Anyone else have this, ideas what it is, and is it anything to be concerned about? My A/C works fine, just that noise. Very strange. Thanks!!

 

I remember seeing a few posts about this last summer because mine does the same thing. Still works fine so i dont sweat it..literally

 

Thanks. I won't sweat it either. I'll ask the dealership next time I take it in, because I am curious, and it does annoy me. I'll have to live with it I guess.

 

i think its normal. i think its the car bringing new air from outside and filtering it out so it can be used inside the cabin. so that way the cabin has a constant air from outside instead of just using the cabin air.

 

Weird A/C noises seem to be the norm for this car.

Mine does the whooshing wind sound as well as an occasional chirp or "police siren blip" sound when the compressor kicks over.

From what I researched on the board when I first got the car, all normal.

Does having recirc on/off make any difference?

 

No. It does it on either setting. It even overpowers the stereo sometimes, which I know isn't hard to do, since the stereo is weak. It didn't make a noise for over 5 years, now it suddenly is, and it's often and can get very loud.

 

Mine used to make SOOOO much noise when I first got it. However, the more I used the A/C the less the noise is there. But it's still there randomly. It's annoying though.
