A/C turns itself on?

Has anyone else noticed that their A/C turns itself on at times? I have started the car a number of times to see the A/C light on.

Is the selector in defrost position. If so, it's supposed to turn itself on. Otherwise I've never had that problem.

same. defrost it goes on.

when you switch to 'defrost' it goes to AC automatically for better defrosting.

if you turn off the car with a/c on it will stay on when you turn on the car! i think its the same way for the radio!
