Default calipers clicking

Hey all,
Whenever I go from reverse to forward, or even come from a stop to accelerating, the calipers click/creak, apparently from the shoe moving inside the caliper.

The guy service guy at the dealership said that there's nothing they can do without making the brakes squeak, but i recall another service guy telling me it's an easy problem to fix, just lubricating the caliper?

Has anyone else had this problem?

J

It may not be your brakes/calipers, but rather your rear hub. There is a TSB somewhere I think, and some info in UTH. If "Search" wasn't down I could have it for you in a second. But look around UTH, there's a recent 'Clicking' thread there I think.

I had a similar problem. the problem in my case was that the area between the wheel and hub was dirty, causing some shifting.

other causes are the axle nut being too loose...with yours being a 2001 I think this is likely. Honda updated the torque specs for that bolt due to this problem.

I have a 05 with 380 miles on the odo and have the same noise from the front calipers/pads. Nothing to worry about, just a bit annoying when it happens..

I had it too, but then it went away on it's own. :-D

I'm not worried about it, it's just quite annoying and it SOUNDs like a bad thing, though i know it's not.

I know it's the calipers though, because when it first started the service tech reproduced the noise by pressing on the caliper with his hands.

I had the EXACT same problem. Dealer replaced rear calipers under warranty (Certified warranty). Now it only clicks occasionally when engaging the brakes. Taking it in tomorrow at 2 for them to look at it again. I already tightened the rear hub nuts. I am thinking it might be CV joint. I will post when I get it back from the dealer.
