Calling All Fellow S2000 Owners
I am currently the proud owner of a 2004 Berlina S2k and am leasing it for the next 4 years. I love the car more than anything i have ever driven, and would love nothing more than to Comptech Supercharge it. After reading countless threads on people disputing over na and fi for the s2000 i just cant get away from the fact that for the money.. the comptech will produce more power than any n/a set up for the same amount of money. Also, being that i am LEASING the car, i cannot be putting tons of internals and new parts to build a stronger natrually aspirated engine. Though i do think that the possibilities of a supercharger/aftercooler set up being bolted on to the car can be simple enough to go ahead and remove and sell when the car needs to be returned or purhcased down the road. My problem is that a supercharger is not a small investment on my budget and i am wondering if you would think it would be wise, or even practical for me to go ahead and get one and love the hell out of the car for the duration of the lease and then see where i am at at the end of 4 years. I am also worried about warrranty issues on the car. I have heard of some people actually having dealerships install their SC's to keep the warranty on the engine, and i know comptech warranties their products as well, though im still worried. Im just looking for some feedback from you all, i know there are some very knowlegable enthusiats on here who can offer up some good info for me. I would appreciate any responses. I am also contemplating a used SC to save some money.. i would also be interested to hear if anyone has any info on that. Once again, thank you all very much and enjoy your S2's
thank you for the assumption, but actually i am not all that "well off" mommy and daddy didnt hand me this car, i got a new job and am working full time to pay for it. its all mine and i was hoping for a more open minded response.. i am serious about this and i hope others can pay me due respect regardless of my age.
Given that you've mentioned money being a concern several times in your thread I'd suggest you skip the supercharger for now. It's an expensive outlay and will increase the risk of breakdowns in the drivetrain. Chances are your warranty on any drivetrain component (engine, tranny, diff, etc..) will be void unless the supercharger is installed by a dealership willing to warranty the vehicle after the install. BTW, even if you do get it installed by such a dealership make sure you get their declaration of continuing the warranty with a supercharger in writing.
If anything happens to the engine, they are gonna place blame on the s/c. That would be a huge concern for me also, but I guess if you treat the car properly, it should last!! (nice car, btw..I love the black)

Well thats pretty uncommon. Don't seen many people your age or I guess even my age with s2ks. s2k drivers in my area are def way older. If thats the case then I would skip on a s/c since your working to pay for your s2k. The s/c would increase wear and tear and there is a chance an expensive fix might be needed in the future. Just stay n/a for now and theres tons of other things to spend $ on.
What are your lease payments like just curious? What made you decide to lease and not buy?
