Default can coilovers be overkill?

sorry i'm sure these qyestions are asked constantly but i've had no luck at all with this forums search engine, is there some secret way to get an advaned search? or am i just really dumb and overlookin it?

but anyway, i want to do it right the first time with the S cause it's a really nice car and i really love it, so i just assumed i'd get coilovers.

but i never plan to autocross or race the car at all and can't go super low because i live on a really dilapidated private dirt road. so...

should i save a few hundred bucks and get koni yellows and like skunk2 springs?

is there a major diff in ride quality between the 2 setups?

is the adustability alone make coils worth it for someone like me for say, season changes, or maybe wheel n tire changes?

and is there any higher quality brand of spring that offers as much drop as skunk2?

any help/info appreciated, thanks in advance

If you don't want to change the ride height, there is no reason to get coilovers. With a koni yellow + springs, you can select the rate and probably attain better handling characteristics.

yeah, sounds like a koni/spring combo is right for you... use the 2 perches of the koni's if you want to go up or down 1/2".

I also was wondering this question. I now plan on Koni/spring setup, but want to know what springs are good out there. I have been looking into the Eibach Pro kit. Are these nice springs for the S or is there something else out there?

Koni/Ground Control work great with up to a 2" drop. You can also select your spring stiffness.
