Your car can be anything if you puts enough times and MONEY in to it. Do you think the frontwheeldrive Honda civic, prelude, integra were built for drag racing? But you still see them blasting down 1/4 with ET in the 8-9-10secs. And the ALLMOTOR is hitting 10secs right now. The S2000 were built to appeal to vast variety of people. What i sees is that, Autocrossing usually appeal to the higher age group. Speaking from a little younger generation point of view. Drag racing is still the dominating current in my blood. A latenight stoplight drag gets my little heart jumping every time. I'm not saying that Autocross is for oldies only (since lots of people on this board like to jump to conclusions)( I think the options for autocross is greater when your life is stable (older)). I myself love autocross, and will take classes this summer.

My VERY close friend owned a green 94vr-4. It's a very fast/nice car. I think it will slightly faster than the S in 1/4 ET if you're an average driver. It weights a lot (35 or 3600lbs) but the HP(320-not sure) made up for some of it. It's very tricky to launch a 4wd. I don't know about 6Krpm clutch drop on the vr-4. I drove his car down the 1/4 and the ET for me is 14.1XX and dropping the clutch at 4200rpm (my first and only run). The S can definitely hang/pass the michubichi vr-4 from 70-120mph.

I use to have a 91 VR4 and it was a pretty fast and it was also great in the winter because of its awd,but when the 3rd gen RX-7 came out I traded the Mitsu in for a real pure hardcore race car the 7. In stock form the RX out performs and accelerates better than the 3800 pound pig, reason why I fell in love with the S2000 similar to the RX but refined

There was a guy at Woodburn drag strip who dragged his stock 3000 vr4 all the time. the guy would post 16.5 on his wiondow and he would run quarter times around that. It was the real deal, not a fake.

I doubt that was a real VR4. Even if he floors it from 1000 RPM that car can do high 14s. A lot of torque in that thing.
