Default can the s2000 stay competitive

the horsepower wars have begone again, with new models like the saturn sky roadster and the pontiac solistic.the power upgrade on the new 05 boxster, the 05 mustang just to name a few.all who's predecessors where equal to performance have now surpassed the s2000 in that respect. my quistion is does the s2k have a chance in the world of 300hp cars.

p.s Im not saying i would trade my s2k for any of these cars just asking what the other s2k owners think.

The S will stick around for the same reason that the Miata has been around for 10 years. It may not have the power, but it's tough to beat the handling/funfactor/quality/sex appeal.

SHUT THE F UP! God dammit, what the hell is wrong with you?!?!?!? There's the same type of post on this very same page and the one behind this page and one page behind that one. Just freakin stop. It's not cool, it's not funny, it's not even stupid anymore. It's just flat out annoying.

The horsepower wars are stupid.
The lotus Elise has shown us that weight and suspension matter most. In that same vein, the s2000 is a great car because its a lightweight car. Given proper weight saving revisions, the s2000 would be an even greater car.

I don't understand why people want to drag race the S2000. That's not what it is particularly good at - not now, not 4 years ago, and not 4 years from now.

Take a small, tight, well balanced roadster like the S2000 and throw it through the curves. That's where it thrives. The fact that it is fairly quick in a straight line is only a bonus.

I am happy that horsepower is back since there are so many more fun cars out there now. But in the end I still love my S for what it does so well.

I would still rock an E30 M3 and two new generations of M3's have come out since then.....its not about Horsepower, its about how the car makes you feel everytime you look at it and drive it

To bad in the streets of Miami there are no curves.. Just straight lines.. I guess thats what the track is for but we don't have many of those either..

I just came from a Miata after a really bad wreck.. The Miata and the S2000 are very different cars. But they are the same general idea. I think it will last as long as people can affored a 32-33k car.
