Default Can someone tell me how to remove the seatbelts.

I got into an accident so my seatbelts are locked up right now and I got new ones at a junk yard. But I can't seem to get the headrest off so I can take the seat belt off. Can someone tell me how.

This is not a simply thing to describe to you over the internet even if I had the Helm manual in front of me (I'm not at home right now). It involves removing a lot of interior panels. You really need to get yourself a Helm manual or borrow one from someone near you. Those diagrams and instructions in there are very useful.

I was going to be a smart a$$ and recommend pressing the red button, but that seems inappropriate considering what happened. Hope everything gets fixed up ASAP!!

Also note that there was a seatbelt recall on MY "00 and early '01 cars to address the very problem of locking seatbelts. I don't know why yours would lock up and not release after an accident. Make sure that any belt and reel you obtain from the junkyard is not subject to the recall and was not used in an accident. It IS prudent to replace belts that have been used in an accident, since the belt material has been fatigued.

Like xviper stated, replacing the belts is not a trivial process. Get a Helm manual and be careful with the belt installation. Good luck.
