My poor S2K.. check engine light.. looking for advice
Basically my check engine light came on today. Did a search on here. Tightened my gas cap. Performed the ecu reset and light went away for awhile. Came back on when I went to start it again after letting it sit for a few hours.
Warranty just expired 3 days ago
. (My luck with warranties always happen this way.). I had the buzzing clutch TSB performed about 3 weeks ago (to beat my expiring warranty) and didn't really drive it until today. I did take it out maybe twice to run some errands to see if the clutch worked ok. After the dealer performed the TSB, I did notice a hissing like sound coming from one of the pulleys (the top one) and called the dealer and left a message since I didn't think the engine made that sound before the fix. Actually, I second guessed myself and thought how could replacing the clutch affect the pulley and that it was just my imagination. So, I let the car sit for awhile until today and drove it kind of hard but no clutch dumps or hitting the rev limiter.
Could it be that when they performed the TSB, something was not put back right (thus the noise) and would trigger the engine light? I did drive it a couple of times before today and the light never came on. Granted I didn't drive it hard on those occasions.
Can I still get it checked out under warranty? If not, does anyone have any recommendations for a good mechanic or dealer in the Bay Area?
Thanks. Sorry for the long post.

Long post, this is shorter then some.
I would have the dealer check it. let them know that is has not been right since they worked on it three weeks ago, and that you called and left a message. It could be something (Vacume line)simple that has just work itself free. I think they pull the engine out of the car to replace the clutch. So this means they disconnect just about everything. But I could be wrong.
Also I think you can still buy a Honda Care wnty until 48k miles.

Odds are the dealer forgot to connect something like a vacuum hose, which will set off the light. Let's hope it's that and not something more serious.
The dealer should identify and fix the problem, since they no doubt caused it.

A check engine light means there is something amiss with the emission control system(sensors, vac lines) and is rarely indicative of major troubles. A code scan should reveal the nature of the malfunction. Question: (hopefully RT or Gernby see's this) is it true the engine is removed for access to the clutch?

The same as eveyone else....
I had the same TSB done a couple weeks ago. Got a check engine light once - took it back - they had reversed two vacuum hoses. Got a check engine light a second time - took it back - another hose was found disconnected.

Seems like a pattern. I had my clutch TSB performed about a month ago. When I was getting ready to leave I noticed the "check engine" light was on. I pulled back into the lot and spoke to the service writer. Luckily the mechanic had not left yet - it was end of the day. They pulled it into the garage and after 10-15 min found a vacuum hose that was loose. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to reconnect everything at the end of the procedure.
