Can you feel the difference in torque?
I'm with ya...a lot about the AP1 I like better. I do like the AP2 bumpers, though, and I got the front when I damaged mine.
Really, on the whole AP1/AP2 debate, you can almost get a supercharger with the price difference, and then the point is moot.

And because you get to spend more time in VTEC
Powering to red in 3rd and 4th gear really leaves you in VTEC for a nice period of time
As an avid biker, to me it has always been about the redline
8 pound feet here or there does not seem like that big of a deal
But grabbing the next gear at 9,000 in a production car just seems magical

I like the AP1 better because the tach looks cooler

I remember when the S first came out, everyone raved about the 9K redline. Ask someone what's so special about the S2000, and I bet most guys would answer: the 9000 rpm redline, before listing any other attributes. It almost defines the car.
When I miss torque, I drive my Evo.

Excellent post!
If you want torque the S2000 is the wrong car...no matter if it's AP1 or AP2.
The OP isn't asking about whether the S2000 is a torque monster but whether or not you can feel the differences in how the two versions of the car drive, and the answer is yes, you can feel the difference. Like twins, they may be almost identical, but they do have different behaviors.
