It has been arguably proven that AP2 suspension is the better. I have owned both, and had an '05 for about a week in between. The AP1 is notoriously twitchy. It gives a bit more feedback, but is known for snap oversteer. The AP2 is considerably more balanced. To some, it is more sedated, but most call it refined. Of course, MY06/07 added VSA or Vehicle Stability Assist to the mix
So the 06/07's have VSA??? 04's/5's wouldn't have them would they?

DAMN....well I'm gonna push to what I can honestly afford. In the end they are both still S2K's and I'll be satisfied with either one,
Hopefully I can find a 03 GPW/Tan Interior

Great information about MY06 (and MY07) models is in the top of the under the hood forum. That'll give you an idea of the latest changes.

haha...you guys are losing traction now that there are relatively even amounts of relic ap1's and new evolution ap2's...you know you're jealous of our monstrous tire-ripping torque

im looking at an 02-03. i just like the AP1s and they are easier on the wallet. and the 02-03s have a more aggressive tune than the 00-01

I agree... if I could have any s2k, I'd get a low-mileage, garage-stored '03.

If you get an '00-'01, find out if they did the TSB for the clutch buzz... I have the buzz now and I don't think I'm going to be able to get it fixed as I've heard HondaCare doesn't cover it. It's annoying.
