Default Can't get new oem trunk to close

I'm trying to install a used oem trunk and latch on my car and can't for the life of me get it to lock closed. My original one locks perfectly fine.

I've tried all different adjustments with the 4 bolts that hold the trunk, the two bolts that hold the metal loop where the latch attaches, and the two rubber stoppers.

Any tips?

Thanks

Adjust the trunk itself, the two bolts on each side. You can slide the trunk forward, back, and side to side even.

I'd tried moving the trunk forward, backward, side to side and even certain diagonals. I even got into the trunk while my wife closed it so i could see if i could figure out what was up.

I confirmed that the trunk and latch worked fine with the previous owner. I feel like I'm missing some simple adjustment.

i think i'm understanding you. i took off the metal latch loop from the car and pushed it into the latch to make sure the latch worked. latch is all good

Don't forget to use the flash inside the trunk.
