Can't I ever drive in peace?

Does this only happen to me or is it more often then I think.
I feel your pain.

Usually, I just get looks from people - but lately it's been far worse than that.

For example: yesterday I was simply cruising through a small town, in a high gear to keep the car quiet, and 5-6 teenagers walking along the street yelled "BITCH!!".

I have also had some incidents this year with fellas in their 'I Am Compensating for my Small Penis' trucks. Wish people would just get over themselves.

Hmm, I guess there are quite a few idiots that delude themselves into thinking they are driving sports cars. I had a similar experience with an F-150 Lightning on an off ramp. Every now and then, I'll 'time things' just right and hit a tight loop unimpeded. This was about to be one of those times, but then I heard and saw a damn pickup truck approaching from the left with the obvious intent to overtake me.

I should have just let him do it, but the stupidity of his intended action triggered an angered reaction. I accelerated to force him to choose the open space behind me. I knew that I was within the limits of my car, but I decided to enter the turn a little harder than I normally would. To my surprise, the idiot in the F-150 thought he could shadow me. As I felt the rotation of the car, I started to ease into the gas as my tires gently reminded me that I was pushing the limit. The F-150's tires just screamed, “You're #@(%ed!” Indeed, he was. Somehow, he managed to keep his tires under him, but he pushed into the field and slid through about 280 degrees of spin.

I was somewhat committed, but eased back enough to know that nothing terrible happened behind me. The F-150 left the road, but didn't roll – nor did it hit anything. No other vehicles got ensnared. Only the idiot driving his pickup truck as if it were a sports car was involved. He may have needed a change of underwear, but was otherwise unharmed. The fun I anticipated when I spied the lack of traffic in front of me as I approached the off ramp was, however, severely harmed. I wanted to go ask the guy what he was thinking, but...

I have no doubt that F-150 Lightning would outrun my little S2000 in a straight line. I really couldn't care less about that. What possesses the owners of such vehicles with the idea that being fast somehow confers handling to them, I'll never understand.

---

I don't regularly get challenged. Perhaps, if I weren't a balding and graying 50-something, it would happen more often. Of course, it could happen more often than I realize, but I just fail to notice (intentionally).

Don't know why but I never get anyone trying to do anything with me in my S2K. I figured with it being a smurf blue CR with a big wing that I would, but it never happens

My S2000 with Invidia and blue VS-XXs never got messed with. When I drive the S30 however, its constant - which is ok. People are just curious how fast it is I suppose. The oil cooler, big FMIC, loud BOV and big rising sun on the hood are bound to get attention.

The only time I bite is when its a smug 350/370Z driver.. for obvious reasons.

unless it was modified, the truck will not keep up. Had a dummy in a 2000 - 2003 or so try me and after him doing like others have mentioned, light after light I got ticked and took off like a bat out of hell. All he had then was excuses, about how I have 6 gears and well, 9000 RPM means I dont have to shift as much

my favorite was a 2005-2007 trying to keep up on a long interstate entrance. I take this entrance alot and love the tight turn in the first part of the entry. Convertable Vette though he could keep up and found out he couldn't when he lost it and the back end went into a wall at about 70.. I didnt even notice the car untilhe started tailgating me getting onto the highway. I pisses me off when someone wants to ride my bumper at higher speeds and show just how stupid they are

That would happen all the time to me. Even more so in my VR4.. In fact, my vr4 was so loud people would THINK I was racing them then flash their hazards to let me know THEY won.

My favorite is when trucks try to race, and Im trying to figure out where they got the idea that their truck was built to go fast.

Loud exhaust is what does it.

I agree with the suggestion to ignore them. I think that frustrates em when you don't pay any attention.
