Default A Car Is Born....

Hey all! I've got some news to share. Well, the build date on my Sebring Silver is December 15th, so my car officially "exists" now!! It's probably already been test-driven around Tochigi...ahh the daydreaming It should be on the boat any time now for its 21-day journey across the Pacific and into my eagerly awaiting garage. It's so weird to think after all these months of waiting that the car I've been dreaming about is now reality. Wow...it's sinking in...it won't be long before I'm driving it! I've been waiting for this for over two years now. This car consumes my life...and I don't even own it yet!! I am normal...I am normal...I am normal...right?

I drove the car in Vegas 4 months ago...and I can't get over the fact that I can remember everything crystal-clearly to this day. I remember the awesome sound of the motor at 9K. I remember the immensely powerful brakes. I remember exactly how the steering felt...and the extremely short-throw shifter...and the razor-sharp handling. No car I've ever driven has left such an impression on me. When I get mine next month it will be like I'm driving an old friend Just wanted to share my enthusiasm with you all. I'll take this time to thank you all for all the valuable info I've absorbed here. This site is the best!!

I can appreciate your enthusiasm . My Black/Black was born on November 29 and is due at the dealership tomorrow December 17. I have read everything I can find on the S2K but my first drive will be this one, right before I give the final OK and hand over the money. The closet I came to one was when I sat in it at a car show. It fit me perfectly! I am a long time sports car enthusiast and and racing nut and this car is a steal for all of the technology and quality they have in it. Good luck with yours and I will post my first (driving) impressions later this week...I hope.

Ron,

Don't worry, you are normal. I went through exactly the same feelings before mine arrived.

It seemed to take forever from the time that it was ordered until it arrived. This was the longest five weeks of my life. Did the dealer get your VIN yet? By the way, the wait is well worth it.

Enjoy your new car,
Bob

Make sure you keep your "old friend" under 6K for the first 600 miles to ensure optimum performance/reliability later.

I had anticipated getting the car for over 6 months until I got it last Sunday. The car is awesome. Now that it is broken in, it is great to drive. You'll be so happy when you get your car.

How do you find out what day your car was built on?
