I have both, I use the Honda inside and the WeatherShield outside. While the WeatherShield is a synthetic fabric and doesn't feel as soft as the Honda flannel it will not scratch the paint. Overall if you are going to cover your car outside (trips, work, etc) the WeatherShield is one of the best.

ps: I also have a cockpit cover when I just want to cover my interior. Made out of Techalon

Nice comparison post Ken.

My Weathershield is snuggled up inside its original box, virtually untouched. Why put it over the Honda dust cover unless your garage has a leak? It seems to me that you just get dirt from the Honda cover on the inside of the Weathershield.

I will use my Weathershield for traveling. I bought it so I could store my S2K outside for the winter and keep my daily driver ('93 Prelude) in the garage during the winter; but, in the end, it seemed like false economy to keep the $8,000 Prelude garaged and let the elements attack the S2K.

Barry,
My Honda cover is clean and now has a better chance of staying that way during the long term storage. Also, It's not exclusively my garage. My roommates have little kids that occasionally make their way in there. Mischievous little creatures. Plus the garage is also used as a wood shop on occasion and the WeatherShield does a better job of shedding any saw dust.

wow great posts guys! That's great information. Besides the positive feedback on these posts about the Honda cover I'm going to try and ask my dealer to throw one in on my purchase on Saturday. I figure that's the least he could do for me. Have any of you gotten a free cover from Honda or did you pay? If so, how much did it run you? Thanks again

I bought the Honda cover from HandA accessories: http://www.handaaccessories.com/s2000.html . They were very helpful and delivered it to me very quickly.

I use it on my car while in the garage [protection from cats, dings, dust, etc]. It would not be best for a car that is parked and covered outside. I'd bet this cover would soak up water like a new sponge. As noted by others above, it is big and bulky but worth it for my type of application.

Oh I see! No one makes his or her way into MY garage! No cats, dogs, rats, squirrels, little children or wood chips!

You make me feel lucky I can pamper my silver/black with its own space.....shared with an XR250L and a Diamond Back WCF 2.0 mountain bike.

I respectfully disagree! Our sponsors H & A (Honda cover) and Top Notch (the rest) sell almost any car cover you could need. My WeatherSeal (which I think is the best) fits my Stook like a glove right down to the mirrors and the condom for the antenna.

Will the topnotch cover go over the Honda Cover?

How is the Honda cover in the rain? I thought it was indicated for use outdoors, including in rain conditions?

I've only had it on a few times now, since I usually wash the car in the morning, and by the time its ready to put to bed, there is sufficient grit (not visible) on the surface.

I have only had a minor amount of water get on the cover while it was installed, and the water seemed to bead off, mostly.

How much is that WeatherShield? If its more repellent, I might put it OVER the Honda cover for the nastier days. Hell, nasty or not, it would keep the Honda cover clean...and if its that small.

How similar in shape and size to the Honda is it? Does it have the little antenna pouch too?
