Car Cover Advice Needed
I've been looking to buy a car cover for my '03 S2000, and I've noticed that there's a pretty big difference in price from the "Genuine" S2000 car covers and some of the off-brands. I realize that the Honda car covers are custom fit for our car and most of the others are not, but I was wondering if it's worth the difference in price.
Right now, my car isn't a daily driver and it spends a lot of time in the garage. without a cover, I can get a film of dust on it and I don't want to wash it every time I drive it. It's not that important to me that it looks nice sitting in my garage, but I don't want to spend money on an inferior product and be disappointed.
If you have a car cover, please post your opinions.

Covercraft weathershield. Great cover, lightweight, comes in a variety of colors. Custom fit and costs around $175. Comes with a 4 year warranty.
I've not been to impressed with any of the Honda covers. They are bulky, designed for indoor use, and tend to fall apart over the years. If your only looking for an indoor cover the Honda one will work and is soft but don't be fooled, anytime your pulling a cloth across a dry surface any dirt can scratch the surface.
There are many Covercraft materials to choose from, I chose the Weathershield for its outdoor properties. It doesn't absorb water.

If it's sitting in your garage....a OEM cover will be plenty. I have a OEM cover and I've only used it once. Car covers are a pain in the ass if you ask me. I'm too lazy to put the damn thing on and off. Especially after I wash the car.
Maybe it's just me but everytime I take a cover off it leaves residue. Smears on the glass and random around the car. I spend twice as much time buffing everything out after removing the cover that it takes 3 times as long as I had planned.
Simply put........if it's not your daily driver.......get the OEM cover, keep it in your garage and you'll be plenty protected.

For the OEM cover users, do you ever put the cover on with the top down? I have done that a few times and I find that the underside of the cover leave a lot of lint in the interior, especially on the sunvisors where it's in direct contact with the cover. I have washed the OEM cover a few times and I find the lint gets EVERYWHERE when I hang it out to dry. Maybe I am not washing it right. I just put it in the washing machine and wash it regularly.

Don't recommend you putting the cover on with the top down.....
Any cover will do.....IF it's going to be inside a garage.
If it's going to be outside you want a durable tight fitting cover. That's were you get into "getting what you pay for". Loose fitting, universal or aftermarket covers will flap in the wind and will ruin the clearcoat on your car. Flapping covers is big reason I don't like to use them.
Inside a garage....different story......use whatever works and is the cheapest.
