is the oem cover waterproof? and where can i find that covercraft one?
The OEM cover is not waterproof.

The covercraft - weathershield cover IS. It is also UV resistant, so it holds up very well. It is custom fitted and even has a little pocket for the antenna.

I got mine from a local cover shop - Coast Car Covers, San Diego. Do a internet search for "Covercraft" and you should be able to get it near you as well.

I also have a Covercraft cover. Just like Hockey's, it's a perfect fit. Pockets for the mirrors and antenna, and plus the cover covers the car completely down to the ground. The OEM cover does not cover as much. Plus, my cover is waterproof, UV protected, durable, and you can wash it in your washer and dryer. I paid over $200 on it. And like what was quoted above, you get what you pay for. I park my car outside so having the cover is like parking it in a garage.

As far as not wanting to wash the car all the time:

If you use a cover, any cover, you should wash the car before putting it on. Any dirt on the car will:

1. Get trapped in the soft lining of the cover.
2. Scratch your clearcoat.

Keeping the car looking nice will get you on the front end or the backend, but it WILL get you.

Or a floor jack to lift it and wheel it into place.

hahah....no, not quite that tight. Its all about camera angle. I have about a foot or so infront of the car, and about a foot and a half behind it.

Kinda tight, but saves room in the garage since my mom has issues parking and I figured I would keep my car as far away as possible from hers!

I agree with others about Weathershield. It is totally worth the money. I've owned covers in many fabrics before (Evolution, Noah, Tyvek Plus), and none were actually water resistant to any useful degree. All would eventually let water thru, and this is really bad because the dirt goes with it and the whole damp mess is sitting on your paint for days. On my MR2 I actually got a permanent pattern that looked like the weave of my Noah cover from leaving it out in the rain once.

The Weathershield is extraordinary. It completely repels rain, and it is small enough to fit in the washer. This is good because you wash it more often, which keeps dirt from scratching your paint. Also it's small enough that it doesn't take much space in the S2k trunk. All of these things make it the perfect cover for the S2k IMO.

Spend the money and get the OEM cover. It fits like a glove and there are no hassles.
