Default Car Covers

I'm buying a beater car for the winter, but have to keep the S2000 outside while I'm not driving it. So I was wondering what should you look for in a car cover, don't know much about them. I looked on ebay and they had car covers for $40, but it wasn't custom for the S. Not looking to spend hundreds of $$$ on it....................my S is a lease.

I have a leased s also, and i just bought my car cover 2 days ago from honda for 230, its a lot but its a small investment compared to what you would have to pay to repair winter damages, and when your lease is up sell the cover and make some money back, you will lose some but its better then nothing.

If you're going to need a car cover for outdoor storage, one of the best ones is a weathershield type from Covercraft. I bought a noah cover, but the weathershield is better for outside storage. You can pick one up for a little over $200.

Def. go with the OEM car cover. perfect fit for the antenna, mirrors, etc. Very soft inner lining so no scratching.

LOL! Yea, make one with a Burberry patern for me while you're at it.

You can get the OEM car cover from H and A for under $200. However, I don't think it's the best cover for outdoor use. I'd suggest one of those Weathershield covers.

I have read several times that it may be best to not use a car cover if you are storing the car outside. If the cover does not fit perfectly and flaps ANYWHERE in any type of windy conditions, it will wear bare spots in the paint in a very short time. It may be better to just clean the car thoroughly and put several coats of wax on it and let it sit. Also, Imagine what could happen if dust and dirt does get blown up under the cover. Any movement of the cover at all with dirt under it will scratch the hell out of your paint.

If I were leasing mine, I don't think I would spend the extra money for a cover unless I was planning on buying it at the end of the lease term.
