I believe that every one is waiting to see the 0-60 times.

My point exactly. I could give a flying f[spam]k about the 0-60 times. But it's those people that the new s2k should appeal to. The same people who ask if they can drove a V6 in the s2k.

This is all just my opinon of course. I could be wrong

If I had to venture a guess I would say because of the 17" wheels and lower profile tires Honda compensated with a VERY SLIGHT change in th espring rate as to not rattle teeth. The feel will probably be very close to current with more control. I still predict it will be an improvemnet, not a reduction in performance as so many seem to want to believe. I guess we'll know who's predictions are closest in a few more weeks...
Can't wait for the first real road test of the '04...

That is possible too. But not what my guts and rumor mill is telling me.

I too can't wait to see one on the track to see what kind of lap times it turns. We'll have to a a back-to-back test w/ the same driver in a 2.0 and a 2.2

Once we know what tires are coming on these new 17" OEM rims then all our questions will be answered (IMHO). If it's a S-02 then I might have to eat some crow. On the other hand, if it is a S-03 -- like I strongly suspect -- then it will be obvious that Honda is making performance compromises. If it is some all-season tire then I will even more disappointed in the S2200.

Here's what will appeal to the magazine racers (general driving public).....
17" wheels (cuz 17's are cooler than 16's ya know), shave a tenth or two of the 0-60, wider tires might actually yeild slightly higher cornering G's, bigger engine (cuz bigger is better right?), better 1/4 mile times, and a few other things....

Here's what I would want....
A slightly beefier drivetrain, slightly wider tires front and rear (diameter doesn't matter), better brakes, stronger clutch, elimination of the God-forsaken 0-60 gearing (I could care less about the 0-60 times, 1st and second are too tall in my opinion) DO NOT lower the redline! The higher spring rates of the '00 model year.

An engine with a higher redline allows a shorter final drive than an engine with a lower redline. Honda won't ever build a car that won't do 60 mph+ in second gear. If they lower the redline they are going to have to put a taller rear end in the car in order to maintain the ability to hit 60 in second. This is going to pretty much cancel out the fact that peak hp comes at a lower rpm.

In a dream world I'd want them to put the concept motor back in the car. A 2.5 liter 5 cylinder with 260ish hp and closer to 200 lbft. The last thing I want is for Honda to stroke this engine and loose the rod ratio that allows it to rev like it does. I think I'd cry is my LS/VTEC crx revved higher than my S2000.

You could care less about 0-60 and you want shorter(slower) gears in 1st and 2nd.

I have a feeling you are in a minority of ONE around here.
