thanks....interesting how hp and chassis integrity/weight/suspension quality play almost equally important roles: the Z51 vette is almost 15 seconds ahead of the CR, and the Mosler is almost 15 seconds ahead of the vette...that is an ETERNITY

I love to see how my FD would stack up in the field, I bet it would be a bit ahead of the Z51

Didn't a slightly modified Cobalt also kick @ss at a time trial competition?

Well, the S2K lacks hp and tq compared to most of the cars on the test. I'm just glad that this mag actually tested the S2K instead of brushing it aside and replacing it with the 350Z Nismo or any other entry level sports car that competes with the S2K's price range.

it was full on time attack car backed by GM in the unlimited class. it holds the 2nd fastest lap record on buttonwillow.

it also holds the fastest lap record there for a FF car.

it created quite a stir in the time attack community a few years ago...

Take the results with a grain of salt.. look at the exit speed for the Elise SC on section 2. Something fishy going on

I take these mags and articles with a grain of salt.

"(190 horsepower) that ran at VIR in 2006 scampered around the 4.2-mile course in 3:09.2 versus 3:16.6 for the supercharged version."

That right there made me laugh that the cobalt beat the Lotus. Let's get a better driver here.....jeez. That and the fact they ran 7 seconds slower with a more capable Lotus.

dont rag on them americans yet mang. that ecotec 4banger is pretty lethal when done right, just like any other 4banger that honda makes.

lets face it...we just dont have a 'uberfastcar' ......unless youre boosted/ITB'd.

that + gm now knows they have to make a 'sports coupe' that can try to compete with the civic si's and stuff...
