You get what you pay for, get better front tires.

I think Crash hit it right on the nail. Sounds like a caster problem to me. 6.45 degrees is the s2000 max setting and I would set to that.

I don't know about your suspension settings, you can investigate what others have said. As far as the tires, you should expect some 'softness' from new tires. I have always been unsettled a bit by my car's handling when putting on new tires. New rubber + taller tread blocks makes the car a little squirmy for a while. I don't know if that's all you're dealing with since you changed several things at once, but it's probably at least part of the reason your handling feels soft.

Could be a number of things.

I suspect the new tires have a very soft sidewall. This will cause sloppy steering. Inflating them more can mitigate this. The OEM tires have pretty decently stiff sidewalls. There is also more tread squirm on new tires, and therefore less responsiveness.

You may have increased spring rate, but since you are so low you have brought the roll center below the ideal point. This will cause more body roll without getting RCAs (roll center adjusters).

Also make sure you have as much caster in the front as possible. You can't have too much unless you're doing so at the expense of not enough negative camber.

Sounds like your shocks are set-up sufficiently stiff. Otherwise, I would also look into increasing compression damping up front.

A) ROFL @ Front Tire Purchase - that's probably most of the problem
B) Your "factory alignment" isn't a factory alignment with those specs you posted

Front tire purchase is temporary until I get new rims, if you even read my OP. Why waste money on $200 Potenzas

Its probably the alignment settings coupled with the new tire...went out on some back roads last night for some spirited driving...car is not as bad as I thought.

Must have just been the quick high speed lane changes and the crowned road I was traveling on during my trip back wasn't helping.

Primewells are horrible. I have a single one on the rear. I got a flat late one night and had to settle for it as it was the only one available.

I have Yokohamas on the rest of the car which flex noticeably more than the stock RE050s. The car felt really slow to react when I switched to the Yokos from the RE050s.

I can't wait to install the set of RE-01Rs I have and get rid of this cheap mixed set I'm rolling on now.

I really doubt the Megans are causing your problems. I noticed increased responsiveness compared to stock.

i have megans on my 240 but i would never put them on a s2k. i mean they are satisfactory but the dampening on them sucks. i guess mine is more for looks than performance but they are definately much better than stock so i'm not complaining.

14/12k spring rates are pretty damn high though...mine is 8/6k (streets) and it's pretty stiff...how's the ride?

s2kvince, thanks....I guess its just the tires.... Its only at high speeds so no big deal. I can live with it until I get the new rims.

Thug lyfe, the ride is fine. Don't get me wrong its a lot stiffer than stock at 10/32, but I like it. I would suggest driving a car with the megans on it.
