+1 on the nice interior, I like the red bits.

I wonder if a cut-resistant -- if not cut-proof -- top could be make of Kevlar or something? After a decade on miata.net and here, this seems to happen a lot.

Get a cloth replacement top ....much much nicer than OEM ...i have one and it looks great !!!!...best of luck getting your S back in shape

Sucks man!! Maybe with insurance money you can get soft top and a hardtop if you budget purchase or something.
Could have been much worse at least!

Yet another reminder to me why my S stays in my garage and not on the street when I am not using it. Kudos to the seat locks and JB Weld. Your planning paid off.

Yes, I have to feel lucky they didn't ruin the seats in the process. I will try to get like a softtop impermiable repair kit or something till I get the hardtop.

Try going to a local fabric/art store and see if they have any recommendations. There's gotta be a semi-acceptable way to repair vinyl/cloth
