car painting
well as most of you know my car is still in the shop right now waiting for replacement parts to come in befor they paint it, basiclalyy 3/4 of the car is getting repainted due to shrapnell hitting my car from the accident, he is a very good bodyshop guy and does top quality work so i was considering going for a motecarlo blue paint job? what do you all think, i am open to suggestions.
Sumir my friend,
Color doesn't matter it's the prep and application. If it's that extensive pick up the "Body Repair Manual" from http://www.helm.com. Color is the least of the worries. If 3/4ths of my car needed it I would go to a custom paint. They have some custom pearls these days that change A LOT as you walk around the car. Why go blue when you can have every color in one car for 500-1000 bucks?

mm i see your point, i have several optinos right now, its get a body kit, get custom paint, or when the new stock front facia comes int get those holes fixed and save a but load for college. i will have to think on it. but thanks for the input
If you change the color don't forget the added cost to do inner door jambs, underside of trunk and engine compartment. To do a color change properly the doors should be removed and disassembled then painted off the car before assembling. This is true for the trunk also. In other words lots of work to do it right and lots of bucks.

actually to do an honest to god color change you have to totally disassemble the car... as most cars [including the stook] are painted before any assembly takes place at the factory,it means you have to take the engine out..wiring harnesses..etc. huge bucks for a good job...
