car warm up?

In the winter when it is very cold, I wait 1 minute to let the oil circulate. Then I drive away. In the summer, 30 seconds before driving away. Best way to warm up an engine is to drive the vehicle, but do not go into the vtec range...fyi...vtec wont engage when its too cold anyways.

I start up, wait a minute, then take off. I heard it's best to warm up the diff & tranny with the engine, letting it idle in the garage doesn't warm up either of them as mentioned earlier. Also, the Honda manual says warm up for only a minute or so and not to leave it idling.

The one thing to watch out for, esp in really cold climates, it doesnt matter if you let the car sit for an hour warming up, after that hour, only your engine (and cabin) will be warm. Your differential, tranny etc will still be cold. I think its best to let them warm up together while taking it easy.

100% The differential only warms up with friction.

yeah i wait, i usually start the car up in my garage and wait till the bar goes to the 2nd or 3rd bar. i wait till i hear my engine evening out and the rpm drops to about 2k. i mean i just do it cause i got time, if i dont i rush out of the house lol
