May I make a suggestion here. NASA's holding a performance driving class the weekend (Sat. and Sun.) right before our Laguna Seca Day on 1/14:

It's $249/day, not cheap, but I figure, if you guys are coming from so far away, you might as well spend an extra day or two driving on the track.

pdippell,

We tentatively are leaving Saturday. We would spend the night in LA or San Diego, then drive up the coast on Sunday. It would be a waste of the PCH if we didn't drive it fresh and wide awake.

The NASA event sounds like fun, but the extra $249 is big chunk of change.

I am interested in joining the caravan from Ventura County (~60 miles toward Santa Barbara from LA) up the coast with the group. I'm right off the 101 and can meet anywhere in the area. If we leave Ventura around 9 or 10 am, we can have lunch in the SLO/Morro Bay area and take the afternoon for the awesome PCH drive up to Monterey.

By the way, I have a room at the Clarion on Munas Rd in Monterey for $75 a night (entertainment club or AAA auto club discount price).

Hey, Tanq, I'm one of the San Diego people who's planning to leave Sunday for LS. Where would you be staying in San Diego? We could set up a rendezvous point based on that, maybe (time permitting) even do a repeat of the run through La Jolla we did for Team Irvine to make the run to LA a little more interesting.

Keep us posted as to your plans.

There is a thread in the southern california forum where a bunch of SoCal people expressed interest in driving up as a group. Go check it out.

Understood. In the future, I'd suggest having a checkbox on the registration form indicating whether that person is ok with having their s2ki handle being sent out to the others that sign up so that they can coordinate travel plans.
