Default Carbon Fiber S-2000

How much weight could you shed off the S2000 with, a carbon fiber hood, front bumper, doors, fenders and tail section???

Well, the C-West time attack car is almost completely carbon fiber and I believe it weighs in at just under 2000lbs.

If you have $50K to spend yes.

The rear quarter panels are welded on so you will not find them in carbon fiber.

Don't expect to save very much weight from a carbon fiber hood, fenders or bumpers. The only real area for weight savings is a hundred pounds or so from carbon fiber doors but expect to pay atleast $5K. THe C-West car is soo light mainly from gutting the interior.

If you cheap out and go with Seibon products, they may look nice but don't expect any weight savings.

the C-West car is soo light mainly because the trunk is completely ripped out, it is somewhat due to all the body panels but mostly because certain parts just aren't there at all anymore.

i'm sure one of the top ways to save weight is completely removing the soft top and motors and all that and just going for a hardtop. and there has to be a decent loss with fenders, hood, and trunk.

I'm just looking to make this lil car as light and fast as I can for my Mrs...Give me some ideas, I'm thinking supercharger, turbo, carbon everything and a nasty sounding exhaust...

I'm new to the imports...

You can get a Hardtop and pull out the softtop assembly. That will save you about 40 lbs....50 lbs. if you get a Mugen CF HT. AND get a light weight exhaust. The OEM exhaust on the S weighs nearly 60 lbs. There are exhausts that weigh as little as 9 lbs. for the S2000. This is what I plan on doing.

For $50K I'd expect the weave to all be going the same way.
