I'm no PETA person but NVMY4N you're an unwiped anal pore. My beautiful 8yo Lab died a long miserable death thanks to my stupid hillbilly - no offense - bro-in-law leaving antifreeze on the ground (other readers if you're new to this, antifreeze, for some reason, is attractive to dogs and cats). If I caught you or any other putz trying a trick like that, you'd have listened to your last Lynrd Skynrd record.
I too lost a pup 1 summer ago due to antifreeze. Im sorry your dog died.

My suggestion wasn't 100% serious, but shooting one is much better, or better than that flypaper.

I may be from Ky, but I am no f*cking Hillbilly. "No offense", thats you wouldn't have wrote it unless you had seen where I was from.
and I don't listen to Lynrd Skynrd either you stereotypical bastard

So someone should spend thousands of dollars a year because some dip$hit neighbor is too lazy to control their cat? Get real! Even if you are a cat lover, you shouldn't tolerate an animal causing damage to someones property.

Cats should be kept indoors at night.
You don't know much about cats do you?

Placing the blame on the owner of the cat is ridiculous.

I have a cat myself, and for a brief time I had a problem with it climbing on my S2000. The funny thing is, that the S is the only car he ever climbed on. As funny as it sounds, I caught him on it one night, picked up and scolded him, told him "NO" and it seems to have worked! I haven't seen any paw prints since then.

You're right. But it's not about placing blame. It's about placing responsibility. If the owner is responsible for everything their cat does, then you shouldn't punish the cat. If it's your own cat, then it's your responsibility to train it or limit its territory.

Seriosly..

put aluminum foil on the top. Cats hate it. Once or twice of cat jumping up to roof and landng on foil is all it will take. She won't jump up there again. It worked to stop my wifes three cats off the grand piano.

minor point but I think you meant to call him a "stereotyping bastard".

what you did is said he was a conventional bastard, which works too I guess. "you common, everyday bastard!" he said.

sorry, just trying to inject a little levity before this turns into a flame-fest.

That's it. I finally have the solution. If cats can be trained, then:

1. catch the cat,
2. put cat in box with some breathing holes (punch holes before inserting cat), and
3. ship cat to Iraq for basic training (don't put your return address on box).

Simple ... anbody else got anymore cat problems I can help with?

Placing the blame on the owner of the cat is ridiculous.
I, too, mimic "FO2K's" response ..........................
And I'll add a ..........................
In most urban centers these days, a city by-law (or ordinance) is in place stating that cats may not run at large. It is the responsibility of the owner of the cat to somehow contain them in their own yards or keep them as house cats of this is not possible. Therefore, finding a cat sitting on your car is clearly the "blame" of the cat's owner and (at least in this city), that cat is subject to capture and removal by animal control.

sorry, just trying to inject a little levity before this turns into a flame-fest
Too late! Whenever you have RABID cat fans, you will get a flame-fest.
ps. I have 2 cats of my own and yes, they are HOUSE CATS!

i personally love cats, but i hate my neighbors two cats.

I find cat prints on my car every other day, and I have to park outside usually until I can sell my integra with its brand new paint job (which im not going to park outside since i need to keep it scratch free with the new paint).

A couple weeks ago I found a nice set of 4 parrellel (sp?) lines obviously from claws sliiiiiiiiiiiiding down my front fender. Oh you don't know how frikken mad I was, but there isnt much I can do about it because my neighbor's 7 year old keeps letting her "baby kitties" outside every day when she's running around playing. The mom from that house is an idiot and wont do shit, i guess I need to talk to her dad since he seems to be a car guy who will understand my predicament.

some states have "open season" on feral cats, check your local ordinances.

cats just like dogs should be contained and not allowed to roam free; that responsibility lies with the owner of the animal. my dog doesnt wander the streets, my cat stays indoors.

i have this same issue with my car but i have no clue where it is happening. i'm not typically park outside overnight but there have been times when its necessary. i've parked outside overnight at my parents a few times when i've partied it up in their saloon and then stayed in their guest home. i've never SEEN a cat on my car but i know exactly what those claw marks have come from on my hood. the coyotes and bird of prey here usually take car of feral cats but there's obviously one or two in my neighborhood. is there a way i can just electrically charge my entire vehicle so as soon as a cat brushes a body panel he gets zapped? just a little 12 volt kick in the pants which i think would be better than a scat mat would also work well for pestering neighbor kids and teenage thugs
