Cat Scratched Soft Top
I've got a 1.5 cm laceration in my soft top. Its (pretty much exactly) between ribs on the downward slope , and going front to back. I can see daylight through it, but the tear isn't completely through the top (it's kind of like a dotted line because the tear wasn't quite deep enough to go all the way through).
I need to put some goop or a patch or something on it, but I don't know what to use. It seems like the posts I could find were complaints about wear holes and rips over the ribs due to a design problem, but that doesn't look like what I have.
I'm thinking about putting the hard top on until spring, but there are still plenty of nice days here in NE Mississippi, but the rural nature of the place rules out a sport car specialist (or even a Honda dealer).
Anyhow, appreciate any fix-it type suggestions.

I had a 1 cm tear in the soft top of my 06 (at 22K mi), precisely related to the rough edges of the bars. Honda America wouldn't do squat about it, even just 30 days out of warranty.
I smoothed out the bars myself (as recommended in the TSB) with the dremel. The Honda dealer did agree to send it to their "upholstery guy" who put a small patch on the inside. To my surprise, they did a great job and you really have to look hard for the tear, or the patch from the inside for that matter. The patch is about 2 x 2 inches, and matches color and texture perfectly. Especially after hitting the top with a good coat of 303 protectant.
Short version: try an auto upholstery shop to see what they might be able to do for you.

I'd love to get to an upholstery shop, but I'm WAY out here in the docks, about 10,000 miles east of Boon. Any idea where to get one of those patches? The ones I've ben able to find on the internet are for canvas tops. Right now, I'm about t h i s far from using a tube of Shoe Goo.
