Catching Air in the s2k!
So, today I was thinking a bit about the pros and cons of a couple different AWD cars I've been thinking about... And I even tossed the idea around of trading in the s2000... until I remembered how fun it was carving the canyon roads in it.
This brought me back to an experience that I had about a month and a half ago in East Canyon, outside of Salt Lake City, UT. I was running the canyon, turned around, and started running it back the other direction. I was on a little bit of a downhill straight, got up to about 75-80 mph, hit a bump and all of a sudden felt the car in the air, the car hit back down, and my heart was pumping super fast! It was a major rush, but scared the crap out of me at the same time.
So, the question is, who here has caught air in their s2000? It wasn't even a very big bump that got me airborn (I didn't even see it, but sure felt it).

I've jumped the S once and it was not good.
I figured this car would be great at it but I was wrong, the front bumper was the first thing to touch down when I landed.
I heard the familiar silence and then the bumper scraping and then the slam of the rear subframe.
This is the first car I've owned that didn't make it unscathed.
I've jumped my Scirocco's, Jetta, 4 runner, Camry, Sequoia, 3 Gixxers and a 929 on this jump.

I did this last summer. Wasnt a full jump though, really.
I was on a group drive on a very windy road with a lot of small undulations. I must have hit the angle just right on one sunken curve and either maxed out the suspension or smacked the frame and it jumped the rear end up and out. Was able to keep it under control (dont ask me how) but talk about a rush!

I haven't ever jumped the s2000, but my friend and I jumped his explorer. That was some fun stuff, when we landed the car bounced a few times and we almost hit a fence becuase he couldn't use the brakes because it was bouncing so much.
