I use a Plantronics Voyager 510. I comes with a windscreen that works great. When I visit my company's DC's I run into some very high decibel levels on the production floors. With the windscreen, I can carry on convo w/ no problem. Without it folks just hang up, hehe... Best part is, you can even run with the 510.

I should note, this is my 4th bluetooth headset... It took awhile before I found one I could wear all day with the performance I needed. cheers.

To answer your question...the real distraction is the cell phone itself...although you personally may be multi-talented with holding a conversation, shifting, steering, and all that good stuff that comes with driving... some people are just not that talented. Have you ever sat in the passenger seat and just stare at all the drivers as you go by? All it takes is for a driver to look down on his cell phone for half a second before causing an accident....the same thing goes with looking for the right radio station, eating, and changing out a CD. I'm sure most people can balance both a cell phone and driving, but then there are a handful of others that are really that dumb and ruined it for the rest of us. DID YOU KNOW: California has the highest cell phone causing accident on the country and New York actually started the law first when 2 out of every 3 people doesn't even own a car, but take a taxi????

DID YOU KNOW: that a few years ago California no longer require your hands to be at 10 and 2? I mean...can you really do 10 and 2 while shifting???

DID YOU KNOW: that you can get a ticket in California for not wearing a shirt while driving? They consider it as exposing oneself in public.

DID YOU KNOW: that California used to give out tickets to those drivers who didn't wear any shoes...only to revoke the law because some people needed to be barefooted to feel how far down to press the gas and the break. You might be asking, how would a cop know if you're barefooted??? Well, if they pull you over and see that you didn't have any shoes on...they used to ticket you for that too.

I have a shure noise cancelling headset that I use in the car. I got it for my old phone so it doesn't support bluetooth, but the cord is long enough to leave the phone on the passenger seat.

With the top down I can use it with the windows up if i slouch down.

if nothing else, screw em, they can wait til you're done enjoying your drive.

You made it this long without any cell phone. Wait the extra 10 mins to 2 hrs until you arrive where you are going.

That may be the case for personal calls, but work calls don't wait...

Most companies with a comprehensive corporate safety policy prefer you do not talk on the phone while driving.
