Default Center Console...Does the new 04 fit in a 00-03 ?????

Does anyone know if the new MY 04 center console will fit in an older model.
The new one has two drink holders and most importantly, the door slides back instead of flipping up

Not sure, there are a few threads on the conversion process, you may try searching.

I just got mine from Hardtopguy tonight. I am going to do the install now. I'll post pics when I am done. The only immediate problem I can see is no space for the defrost button.

It looked like it wouldn't work to me. Unless you cut the metal bar beneath the center console in your 1st generation S to fit the bigger cup holders from the 2004 console. You also have the problem of button placement (especially if you have a hardtop defroster).

It is very simple to pull up the pieces in your center console to see what is beneath - you'll see the metal bar I am talking about. Of course, I looked at a 2003 - not sure if the 2002, 2001, 2000 have the same bar.

Here you go..
1) yes, the console fits like a glove. No problems with the cup working.
2) you need a new hazzard lights button b/c our old one is too big.
