Default Center Console Question

Hi I have just bought an 04 plate Honda S2k this will be my second one. its mint, waited 18 months since my first one so as you can imagine I'm excited to get back in one again

However one of the problems that the seller explained is that the center console is stuck, he said he thinks a pen has got stuck and its jammed, obviously nothing major but would like it to work, but at the same time I do not want to snap or damage it.

Is there a way to dismantle it so i can take whatever is jamming it out? any links to any threads explaining how to do this would be appreciated?

Many Thanks Daniel

If you want to take the center console off just unscrew the shift knob and yank the center console off. Its easy to take off just be careful.

don't remove the centre console when car has been sitting in the dead of winter in the cold. But all in all its pretty easy to remove. Even better if you have a set of plastic panel separators- best way to separate panels without making a hash of them.

good luck

In addition, once you have the console off you can remove the cubby with the sliding door off and get whatever is stuck in there unstuck

make sure when you put it back together again, that the door slider is not bent and the spring mechanism that pulls it open is intact. When I messed with mine, the door would not slide open by itself like it used to before I messed with it. It took a few tries to get it to open more easily but still not perfect. I might have bent the plastic frame a little too much I guess. But overall very easy to do.
