Default central lock for the mid console?

I did search and didn't find answer. Did anybody do this? Using the central lock to lock the console when leaving the car. The manual locking is annoying. Always lock it so the trunk is secure and then when I drive again I can't get in the console to get stuff since it is locked:-(

I second this motion! I guess you'd have to have a separate locking mechanism attached to the glovebox door, cause getting inside the factory mechanism would be tricky!

It would be nice but I don't think its possible as its just a simple glove-box type lock...

I could have my roommate wire it up for me... he does this type of stuff for a living.

Think its worth the trouble?

Can't tell you how many times I've jumped in and started the car only to realise I need access to the locked glovebox where my garage door opener is stored. Stop the engine, unlock the glovebox, restart the car..... tiresome.

It would be nice if the glovebox lock was operated by the remote like everything else.

Muz... This is the reason I'd personally be interested - I do have a remote car starter/alarm installed though, so if I've already started it and I'm still parked I just put it in neutral, set the ebrake, take out the key, unlock the glovebox and then put the key back in the ignition.

Most alarms will have an extra signal line or two wired to enable/disable with the remote...hook that up to a solenoid. You may need some extra circuitry if the lines are momentary, but that's not a biggie for electronic techs.

Yeah I'm going to ask him about it when I get home. My Compustar has extra auxiliary ports so I'm sure it'd be fairly straight forward for him to do.

If anyone is interested (and he can even find time to do this) I'll post up pictures and some information on exactly whats involved.

... and put up price and order information! I would get this one in the heartbeat no matter how (reasonably) it would cost! How come folks doing the accessories didn't come up with this? Technically it must be so easy, I bet there is a manufacturer - supplier - of who would not mind to sell few thousands more of these to s2k community...
