CF hood care?

Default CF hood care?

i am thinking about getting a CF hood ...

i am wondering what to do to take care of it?

wax it? Zaino it?

I work with CF everyday and if I'm not mistaken the hood would be a lacquered finish.
You should treat the coating in the same way as the paintwork on the rest of the car.
One thing you will notice though is that the resin in the CF will discolour slightly when exposed to the sunlight but there's nothing you can do about that. It will still look awesome though!!!

Yeah, there should be a clearcoat on the hood. So you can wax it to get a nice shine.

id be more concern about stone chips... my poor J's hood has like 4 little chips already! boohoo

'Zactly! My concern as I begin to consider a CF hood is the chips I've viewed -- and how "deep" they run beneath the lacquer. Could a Stonegard application prior to the CF hood even *seeing* the road be a good investment? Can Stonegard be applied over the entire hood?...or is it just "a nose kinda" application?

when a hood gets old and duller over time you can wet sand it and buff it back out for a mirror like shine.
