I was just wondering what the diference in weight was between the stock hood and a CF hood? Does anyone now how much a oem stlye CF hood weighs?

 

Not much difference unless you spring for the $3000 dry carbon construction jobs. The stock hood is already made out of aluminum so there's really not much (any?) weight savings from most CF hoods.

 

but the carbon fiber sure do look better than the stock hood!

I just put on the T.S. clone hood on my car a few minutes ago. Having lifted the stock one off and lifing the CF one on, I can't tell that they were much different in weight. Without having weighed them, this is the best I can tell you.

 

dave did you paint your new hood??

 

Not yet. I'm going to run it as is for a while and see how I feel about it. Painting is still an option.

 

i think they are a little lighter but nothing to write home about (VIS OEM)
