I'd gladly repair any damage to spite a thief.

Are you sure the bolts you used are the same grade as the ones your took out?

If not, they could fail if you are ever in an accident.

do what I do, some of those bolts go directly to the bottom of the car.. I believe atleast 2 of them... Get an extra long bolt, and thread them all the way to the bottom and put a nut at the bottom of the car.. only drawback though is it would be a pain in the ass to remove your seats since you have to jack up the thread. I will still buy those kodokan locks to complement my long bolt extensions..

Also, GET an ALARM. better than having nothing. I'm putting everything on my car short of an attack dog inside to fend off thieves..

I think when they are not able to take your seat, they will just damage them like how they slash the top.
so maybe we should just leave the door unlock or better yet leave it open.

That is actually not a bad idea...

Throw a little thread locker on the nut on the bottom and they just won't be able to figure out why they can't remove them and potentially not damage the seats for spite.

Like others have said, what if you need to remove your seats? Seems like given the price of current seat locks on the market I'd rather just spend the money. They aren't very expensive, and if the day comes to chip out that epoxy you'll probably wish you'd just bought real seat locks.

how often do you remove seats though? probably 90% of the people here have never taken out their seats, and those that do, a majority of them has probably done it only once.. I"m not too sure about the jb weld stuff, but jacking up a car isnt that hard if you had a nut underneath.

ALSO, those kodokan bolts only go for the front holes, they are not for the back (I asked him directly). So you get 4 bolts, for the front section of your seats. The back bolts are a bit bigger.

I split the difference between doing nothing and seat locks. I used a black round headed allen bolt and filled in the hole with black silicone. It would take a pick and some time to get out the silicone, but it is eventually removable. I did it right after I bought the car and did not want to "ask" the wife to buy ANOTHER thing for my toy.
