Default Check this deal out. Good or bad?

I have a 2004 Accord ex coupe as a trade in on a left over NEW 2004 S2000 (42 miles on the odometer). KBB.com gives my car a "trade-in value" of about $17,000.

The deal I've been offered is my accord & $11,000 for the 2004 s2000.
Good? bad? Can I do much better?
Could I do much better on an used 2003-2004?

Thanks

$17K for your Accord. Is it a V6? What condition? That sounds low.

Anyway $28K for the S is a little high. I would look for a minimum of another $1,000 discount on the S or more for the trade.

Why not sell it out-right? I have never traded a car and have always got top dollar for my cars selling to a private party. Clean it up, put a sign on it and advertise on the Internet. A nice S2000 will be around once got a deal on the Accord.

My $0.02.

The price of $11,000 does not include sales tax.
If I sold my car on my own & bought the S2000 out right I'd have to pay 8.25% sales tax on the whole sales amount ($2300.00) vs paying sales tax on $11000 ($900) on a trade.

I talked to the dealer on the phone & I think I can get the deal down to between $10,600-$10,900 plus my trade.
My trade is a 2004 accord ex/automatic/4 cyl/cloth/6900 miles/2 door. (kbb.com trade in =17k)
I would pay title & tax on the $10,900 (8.25%)

This is for a 2004 S2000 with 40 miles.

What do you think? Could I do better? It that about as good as it gets?

Note: This is an out of state dealer.
