Default check engine light is on

i was crusing my S around 75mph on highway and check engine light came on

first thing i checked was fuel door and it wasnt on tight.

my S only have 27k miles on it and dont think there is anything wrong with the car..

im going to bring it to dealer anyways since i have to replace my left headlight (bubble inside)

if my CEL was caused by fuel door will if go off if i drive it around??

Thanks for reading

it should since you said the fuel door wasn't closed tightly.
Give it a day or two then report back to us.

Why not just pull the battery and let your ecu reset and the turn it back on? You'll find out with in the next 10 mins if thats your problem or not.

Why not just pull the battery
Just remove the battery cable for a couple mins.
Removing the battery cable is doing it the HARD way. You then make the radio go into "theft" mode and you will need the code to get it to work again.
Simply pull the "BACK UP" fuse for 1/2 a minute to reset the ECU. This disturbs nothing else and is a lot quicker and easier that messing with the battery.

If it was your gas cap, the CEL will stay off. If it was something else, it will most likely come back on. Then you need to scan it and find what the DTC is.
