Default Check engine light constantly comes on.....

After I purchased my S last week, the light keeps coming on after the ECU is reset. A couple times were reset by me and even my mechanic who knows Hondas real well. The previous owner had a comptech intake on and put the oem one back. The connections look fine. I followed xviper's post about how the vacuum lines go and those look in perfect place. The previous owner said he had no problems with the engine light. On my mechanic's computer it says there is a problem with the secondary airflow. I even purchased a new air filter as the old one was real dirty. Reset ECU, and then the light comes on again after a couple drives. If there's anything anyone thinks this is please let me know! I didn't think it would be such a big deal since it had to deal with the intake, but everything seems in place.

Well the mechanic's device doesn't state it has anything to do with the gas cap. I tighten it pretty good when filling up.

Loose gas cap may very well be the problem. I had the same problem and found out when the seal is broken on the cap the light will come on.

Check it the next day, you'll see it's loose. Trust me,it's a bad cap.

What is the mechanic's "device?" He should have an OBDII tool, which will provide a trouble code that pinpoints the problem. My guess is that it's some kind of vacuum issue, either a leak or incorrect routing of vacuum hoses, probably in the cold air injection system that only functions on cold start-ups.

I do like a dozen. At onetime Honda issued something back in the late 90's about at least 6 clicks, never had the problem since. When I put it on, I spin it until it stops and then give it a good twist with lots of clicks.
