Default Check Engine Light when in 1st or 2nd Gear

I have a 2008 s2000 with 28k miles on it. It has been running perfect until last weekend when I drove 400 miles in 2 days. Still no visible problems after I returned.
Today I noticed that after the car is switched off and then I start driving, the check engine light blinked when shifting the gear from 2nd to 3rd and giving gas. For a while, it seemed like pushing the gas pedal was not making any difference, as if the battery is dead.. then when I put in neutral gear and pushed the gas I can see/hear the engine respond! I put it back to 2nd gear and now everything works fine..

I am just worried what is going on with my s2k. Did anyone have similar issue or heard of anything like this ? It has nothing to do with the gas cap I checked. Also, I am running with my spare tyre on one of my rear wheal (last 60 miles). Looks like it happens only when the car is started.

Thanks.

Maybe has nothing to do with ur CEL but the donut is not supposed to be mounted on the rear of the car at all.

I'm not sure if it's the source of the CEL, but you're not supposed to run the spare tire on the back of the car. The manual states to move one of the front wheels to the back in case of a rear flat because running different sized wheels in back can damage the differential.

You can damage your diff running the spare on the rear for a while.

Thanks all !
Once I got the tire replaced, everything works perfect!

I feel that my S2000 heals itself (just like a human)

Thanks all, once again.
