Hey all:
Have had an interesting anonmoly in car when the car is starting to go. There is very intense (almost violent) bucking when I start off in 1st gear. This has happened at least four times.
1) It only seems to happen in 1st gear on normal starts.
2) The tach swings from about 1500 to 3000 VERY quickly. The car jerks very, very intensely until I either let off the gas completely, or give it more.
3) I've been able to isolate the problem to the following. When I give the car a fair amount of gas, it takes off very smoothly (no problems). If I just give it a hair of gas (keep in mind, I'm already rolling, not in danger of stalling, and going about 10 MPH), the jerking motion returns. I am literally thrown back and forth against the seatbelt, this isn't a subtle motion.
4) Also, it was not cold outside, and it doesn't seem to matter if the car has just been started, or has been running a while.
Can't quite figure out this one. I don't think it is bad gas either (I usually different vendors to mix it up). Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on cause? The car is bone stock on the engine side.
Thanks!

How long have you been driving manual transmission? Sounds like driver problem, this happens to me every once in a blue when i'm driving really lazily.

Welcome to the club Hiro. I've had the problem as well. Tapped on my MAP sensor, and the problem went away. I haven't unplugged mine out yet. Will probably do that today, and see how it goes. I have had a problem with the engine hesitating as soon as it goes into idle. This problem started happening right after an autocross event I went to back in September. We'll see if I kill 2 birds with one stone.

This is my first stick ever and that happen to me for a month when i first got the car. I wasn't too sure if that was the car's problem or the driver cuz i didn't know anything about stick. I don't have that problem now cuz i got better but i always thought that was the driver's fault. Still confused about why it happens.
