So, apparently, instead of giving us a CEL, our cars (at least mine) says CHECK FUEL CAP when your fuel cap isn't tightened properly.

I saw it as soon as I started my car in the morning, and it went away after I tightened the cap and drove to work. It also goes away if you press the trip button.

I got the "check fuel cap" on my 06 before, a US 2006.

 

Here's my story- I was driving across country and stopped in a small Texas town very early a.m and filled up with gas. As soon as I left the pump I got the cel. I stopped and re-tightened my gas cap and within a few miles the cel went out. I guess now it may have been bad gas or possibly something else. It never came back on until this year and this time it was definitly related to emmissions .My response was wrong and good to know what a loose cap warning light looks like.

 

Yah it's just one of the way advanced, extremely useful features of the AP2 s2000 that us old, decrepit AP1 owners could only dream of having..
