Good tip. I check my S2000 every week, but some of my other cars I rarely check due to the fact that they don't use oil.

When I read that the S2000 consumed oil during break in, I was not the least bit surprised. It's typical for high performance engines to consume oil during break in, and even after break in during periods of high load (ie spirited driving).

I owned a Type R before the S2000, and while it didn't use oil during normal driving, it consumed quite a bit during operation of VTEC. But the car already had 20K+ miles on it when I got her.
