Remember some of you thought it would be a good idea?

All plugs were at the spec called out in the Helm manual, so I buttoned things up and I'm not worrying about it again until 7,500 miles.

200 miles on the car now. Maybe there was a gasket design change, they torque the plugs better at the factory for my02?

remember- many parts on this car are put on by hand...
plugs are likely tightened that way.
and i do think this was more of a problem on older cars (such as mine)-
i checked mine and found them in good shape.
you did the right thing to check!!

my guess is the backing out is due to the hand tightening of this mostly hand-built car. I replaced mine with under 10K miles with the Densos, and a few months ago checked the plugs again. all are in good shape. just my thoughts.

I wonder if the mechanics at the factory used a torque wrench?

I checked mine a couple of weeks ago with less then 900 miles on the car and all four of mine were real loose
2 at 6ft/lbs
1 at 8ft/lbs
1at 9ft/lbs

My mechanic buddy who checked them thought I was nuts when he asked if there was anything else I wanted looked at while he had it in the shop. He almost had a heart attack when he saw how loose they were.
