the good old spark plug recall
I found out my 02' hasn't had this done yet.The car at 47k hasn't had any issues thus far, and i intend on swapping the plugs out.Basically from what i understand, the issue is that the plugs back out of the hole right?..So would I be safe to just go ahead and re-torque the plugs until the dealership gets my new NGK's in? (they didn't have them in stock, as S2000's are relatively un-common in my area.)
If you've come this far without a problem, it should be safe to wait a few days till you get the new plugs. Make sure you don't over torque the plugs, as the threads in the head will strip
You need a torque wrench that's accurate to low torque value's. I use a 1/4" drive torque wrench for my plug's.
The updated plugs have an "s" in the part #. The NGK part number is PFR7G-11s. The "s" denotes a stainless steel crush washer. I'm not sure if the original pre-recall plugs had the stainless crush washer. I'm looking at factory plugs from my 03 and they have the NGK part# including the "s" printed in blue on the ceramic portion of the plug itself. So I would check to see if your plugs have PFR7G-11s on them. If not you may want to replace them with the updated part and torque them to spec. The Honda part # for the updated NGK's is 98079-571BH.
EDIT: I obviously misunderstood the question. Ignore me
