Thank you Ulrich!

Last Friday,

I used the January 3, 2003 add to purchase the white/tan as advertised for $29,195 plus title, tax, and lic. from Grand Honda.

Syed was the salesman.

Since we traveled from IN, I explained to Syed that we would purchase the S as advertised. No negotiations, no add ons, etc.

The deal went perfectly. We were in and drove the car away in about 1.5 hours.

Thank you Grand Honda.

You know, there is always a darker side. Before contacting Grand, we tried to purchase a white/tan in MI. The dealer in MI accused us of faking the ad, because it was impossible to sell the car for that price. Go figure.

Thanks again for this great web site. Especially, this thread.

Wart

I got my s2000 from Grand and I had a great experience with them. I got an '01 in march 01 for 1000 under MSRP, 50 miles away at another dealer they wanted an 8000 markup on the same car.

I wonder what kind of incentives dealers are getting, knowing that the base cost (after holdback and destination fees) is $28,807. If anyone knows, please chime in! I know we have a few salesman members.

I talked to a friend of mine that works at Grand Honda. He told me Honda was giving the dealership a hard time for selling S2000's so low, and was threating to stop sending them cars. In turn the dealership filied a lawsuit against Honda.

Is that so? If anything, I would have thought Grand Honda sells a lot, because of their advertisements. I mean what other dealerships advertise them that low? So would this mean a lot of other dealerships are getting the eagle eye from Honda?
