Children in the S

Children in the S
Any of you allow your children to ride in the S2k? If so what age and how do you go about it? I have a 4yr old who I run to daycare in the morning (2 miles), unfortunately to drive the S, I have to go home and get it after dropping her off, which is totally opposite of where I need to go. This results in me not driving it to work much. Also I would like to take her to some cars and coffee events next year.

My kids are a bit older now, but I used to take mine on short little trips when they were around 5 or so when they were at booster seat age.

I've taken my daughter to 3 rides since she was 6 and she's 7 now - she's loved all of them! The first time we used a booster seat and it was okay but she didn't like sitting in it for such a long period in that kind of a car. She's fairly tall for her age so not using a booster seat was not an issue. The two other rides we didn't use a booster seat and she was much more comfortable. I always have her seat all the way back.
I would suggest taking her on long rides (1+ hour) before going to a ride event since she might not be receptive to sitting for a long ride in the S - it's not as child friendly as a minivan
But hopefully she likes it and you can take her to some events to have some father-daughter bonding time!

This may be a big mistake. If your child is tall enough to use the seat belt, you're better off without the booster seat. The seat will bring the child closer to the airbag, making the airbag potentially dangerous. Without the cut off, you're making things more dangerous. Once my son was tall enough for the shoulder belt to hit him correctly, he was in the car. Before that-no way.
It's better without the booster in any case.
