It must be the 4.5" exhaust tips you have.
Seriously, either you have absolute crap tires or insanely bad wheel alignment. I don't even chirp in 3rd with 370WHP and I drive hard. Granted I don't beat the living piss out of my car... in between shifts.

Stop terrorizing your S2000

chirping in higher gears is a function of clutch action during shifting (usually in a manner that is not good for the powertrain), and/or bad tires, not really related to the power your engine makes. Either way it's not a good thing or anything worthwhile IMO.

When I raced a formula 1, half the weight, with twice the power of my S2000, it would have spat me off into the scenery if I had "chirped" the wheels on any gear change.

Fortunately I had developed a competent gear change technique by then. I suggest you get some training & do the same.

"Chirping" wheels on gear change is a factor of the loose nut behind the steering wheel, not the car.

Expected all the smartass comments, so for those of you who pathetically troll posts to show how "smart" you are...piss off. To those of you who asked legit questions...

Tires are 245/40/17 Falken ProG4 a/s I didn't buy them, they came on the car and are very soft and like new. I don't drive my car like a fool, I'm 40 years old, not 16. I play with 9k tach from time to time but THATS WHAT AN S2000 IS FOR! I shift as anyone else would, quickly at about 8,800RPms. I wasn't bragging idiots! I was asking because it didn't seam right to me either. I had a 87 mustang with 6k invested that chirped 3rd TWICE in its life. THUS, the reason I asked about other s2ks and their owners experiences. For all those with valuable input to my post, thank you. I'll have the rear checked, something must be wrong, to have drawn all the haters.

Bald tires seem to be a requirement. Or maybe the original OEM tires which have gotta be as hard as asphalt by now.
