I have chrome OEM wheels on my 01 Spa Yellow. I get tons of comments on them from local S2000 owners. Most won't get them for the extra weight OEM wheels have to aftermarket wheels. I do not auto-x the car so I am more for daily driving looks.

Blech, can't think of any way to make a car more tacky then to chrome the wheels.. especially a Honda.. It's almost as bad as those who change out the stock silver badges for gold one's.. But to each his own..

Another FYI, chrome plated wheels are higher maintenance compared to powdercoated/machined/polished wheels as the chrome bubbles and flakes off around where the tire bead sits causing air leaks. I know many times, I got cars that would come in with air leaks due to this issue back when I worked at America's tire co. I would have to take a wire brush and scrub all the peeling chrome from around that area and apply some thick goop so that the tire would seal properly. And it doesn't matter how good quality the process was, they would ALL peel and flake, from $5,000 Lowenharts to oem due to the nature of having moisture build up in that area from tire mounting/dismounting or just from driving through wet weather.

And no, Honda does not offer any chrome plated wheels from the factory. All done by the stealership for escalated prices..

...or by the consumer who just likes it and that's okay, because you're not the boss of them.
